Invensys Controls Plans $6.9 million Plant in Missouri Creating 200 Jobs
03/14/2012
Invensys received $1.1 million in economic incentives from the state to help with the expansion, said Gov. Jay Nixon.
Invensys is closing a plant in Mexico and realigning the manufacturing of its gas delivery controls business. The company has selected the West Plains facility to serve as its Center of Excellence for gas delivery products, and is reviewing the addition of 33,000 square feet of manufacturing space to accommodate the new production lines, the Governor's office said.
John Fougere, spokesman for the Missouri Department of Economic Development, said Invensys will also receive an enhanced enterprise zone tax credit, jobs training funding and recruitment assistance savings that will allow it to double its workforce in West Plains.
"Missouri's manufacturing sector continues to rebound, as evidenced by this excellent news from Invensys," said Nixon. "This also illustrates how Missouri is bucking the national trend by in-sourcing jobs from Mexico. I am proud that the outstanding team of skilled and hardworking Missourians that make up the Invensys workforce in West Plains was a significant factor in the company's decision to expand its investment in its facility in south-central Missouri."
