Sherwin-Williams Company Expands Waco, Texas, Distribution Hub
03/23/2018
According to the Greater Waco Chamber, the 152-year-old company will invest $39 million including a 49-acre land acquisition, personal and real property. The facility will retain 264 permanent, full-time positions and is expandable to accommodate additional growth.
The company currently occupies 440,000-square-feet in Texas Central Park, also located in Waco. Sherwin-Williams established its first Waco distribution facility in 1989. The expanded operations are a result of the company’s continued growth in product demand and a long-established partnership with the City of Waco, McLennan County and the Waco Industrial Foundation.
“Sherwin-Williams is pleased to continue and expand our relationship with the Waco community,” said Francis Huppmann, Sherwin-Williams Vice President of Operations. “The Sherwin-Williams, Waco partnership is positive economic development for the entire area.”
“Although we place a high emphasis on recruiting new businesses to the area, it is of equal importance that we support the expansion of businesses already located in McLennan County,” said Judge Scott Felton, McLennan County Judge. “We are grateful that Sherwin-Williams will expand its location here and continue its longtime partnership with our area.”
“This is a company we really want to keep in Waco,” said Mayor Malcolm Duncan Jr., city of Waco Mayor. “With their values, and their commitment to quality over the long period they’ve been in business, this is something we should be proud of.”
The Sherwin-Williams Company, founded in 1866, is one of the world’s leading companies engaged in the manufacture, distribution and sale of coatings and related products to professional, industrial, commercial and retail customers.
