Three Businesses Expanding in Ligonier, Indiana
03/29/2011
Jeld Wen is investing $2.5 million to add a coil production line to its existing facility.
"The new line has the effect of doubling our door skin stamping capacity," said General Manager Tom Griewank. "In effect, it increases the capacity of the whole plant and makes us better positioned to accommodate an upswing in the economy. We will have the capability to build more product, which will require hiring more employees."
BRC Rubber and Plastics is investing $430,000 to move to a larger facility that will permit the company to expand. The company expects to hire an additional 40 employees.
"We recently hired an Industrial Sales Account Manager in order to expand our industrial customer sales base," said BRC Executive Vice President Mike Meyer. "In addition, BRC has a history of making acquisitions and in-sourcing the new business into existing facilities; however the timing is not always predictable. We must be ready when opportunities become available."
AME will add a new company branch called AME Swiss Machining. The startup branch currently has one employee, but expects to expand into a new location with 10 more workers within four years.
