Sims-Lohman Invests More Than $1 Million In Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania, Production Center

Sims-Lohman, Inc., a manufacturer of granite countertops and a cabinet distributor for residential customers, invested more than $1 million to establish production facilities in a 22,000 square foot leased space in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania, with plans to create 50 jobs in Butler County.

“We are grateful to receive assistance from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and today’s announcement offers us the ability to bring new development into the heart of Butler County,” said John Beiersdorfer, President of Sims-Lohman. “Our decision to open a manufacturing facility in the commonwealth allows us to continue growing in our service area with home center stores and building professionals. In addition to granite fabrication, we have also opened an attractive cabinet sales showroom at the same location.”

“Today, we celebrate another economic success in southwest Pennsylvania and we are proud to partner with Sims-Lohman to bring 50 new jobs to Butler County,” said Governor Tom Corbett. “As our economy continues to grow, companies are choosing Pennsylvania as the best place to grow their businesses and create family-sustaining jobs.”

As an incentive, the company received a funding proposal from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development including a $100,000 Pennsylvania First Program grant that facilitates investment and job creation and $50,000 in Job Creation Tax Credits. The project was coordinated by the Governor’s Action Team in collaboration with The Pittsburgh Regional Alliance.

“Businesses of all kinds, including Sims-Lohman, are recognizing the value of the Pittsburgh region: its strategic location, competitive costs and ample, quality workforce. These reasons and more make Pittsburgh a solid investment destination. We congratulate Sims-Lohman on its decision to invest here and look forward to helping them to grow in the Pittsburgh region," said Pittsburgh Regional Alliance President Dewitt Peart.
