U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Expands Hopkinsville, Kentucky, Operations

05/26/2026
Smokeless tobacco manufacturer U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Co. plans to expand its operations in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. The project is expected to create more than 200 jobs in Christian County.

The investment will include the construction of a new manufacturing facility located at the company’s existing site.

“Our decision to locate this new facility in Kentucky underscores the important role the commonwealth plays in our company’s history, our business today and in our vision for tomorrow,” said Michael Brace, president and CEO of U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Co. “This new facility will enhance our manufacturing capabilities, improve operational efficiency and support the continued production of the iconic brands adult smokeless tobacco consumers know and trust.”

U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Company, a subsidiary of Altria Group, manufactures and markets smokeless tobacco products for the consumer market. The company’s operations include product manufacturing, packaging, distribution, and brand management.

“Today’s announcement is a great reminder that the commonwealth is open and ready for companies from all over to further establish their New Kentucky Home,” noted Governor Andy Beshear. “This project is bringing great new job opportunities for Kentuckians in Hopkinsville and the surrounding region.”

“U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Co.’s continued growth is a testimony to an awesome company with strong leadership continuing to be supported by its local, regional and state partners,” added Carter Hendricks, executive director of the South Western Kentucky Economic Development Council.
