Porsche Announces It Will Build New U.S. Headquarters in Atlanta
05/13/2011
The new headquarters will be located in the "Aerotropolis Atlanta" development site in Hapeville, adjacent to the International Terminal now under construction at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Its workforce eventually will number 400 employees, including Porsche's Technical Service and Training Center, as well as a cutting-edge customer experience center with a test track facility showcasing the capabilities of Porsche's sports cars.
"The unparalleled nature of the Porsche ownership experience absolutely deserves an equally unique home," said PCNA's President/CEO Detlev von Platen. "That is what we'll create with our new headquarters-a concept completely new to the U.S. automotive industry, and one that delivers our brand and product experience to our employees, dealers and customers alike."
One major benefit of the complex is its ability to "finally bring together all our major sales, after sales and financial services capacities, thus making us an even stronger organization," he continued. "It also sends a strong message...that we believe in the strength of the U.S. market and its future growth." Furthermore, he said this decision demonstrates--to both Georgia and Atlanta--PCNA's commitment "to remain a vital part of this vibrant region."
Established in 1984, PCNA is the exclusive U.S. importer of Porsche sports cars, the Cayenne SUV and Panamera Gran Turismo, and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Porsche AG, (headquartered in Stuttgart, Germany). The company sold over 25,000 cars in 2010; an increase of 33 percent over the previous year.
