Textum, OPCO Expands Gaston County, North Carolina, Operations

Advanced materials manufacturer Textum plans to expand its operations in Gaston County, North Carolina. The more than $23 million project is expected to create 34 jobs.

The investment will include the renovation of an existing 550,000-square-foot facility in McAdenville and the installation of advanced manufacturing machinery and equipment. Production is scheduled to begin by late 2027.

“Textum’s expansion in McAdenville represents a significant milestone in our company’s growth and our commitment to advanced manufacturing in North Carolina,” said Aaron Feinberg, CEO of Textum. “This investment will expand our production capacity, strengthen our ability to support critical aerospace, defense, and space programs, and create high-quality careers in Gaston County. We are grateful for the partnership and support of Gaston County and the State of North Carolina, and we look forward to continuing to grow our presence in this community for years to come.”

To support the project, the North Carolina Department of Commerce awarded the company a $272,000 Building Reuse Grant. The new positions are expected to pay an average annual wage of approximately $67,812, exceeding the current Gaston County average wage.

Textum is an advanced materials and composites manufacturer specializing in engineered textile preforms, resin transfer molded composites, thermal protection systems, and other high-performance materials. The company serves aerospace, defense, commercial space, and industrial customers, with products used in applications including hypersonic systems, rocket propulsion, and reentry vehicles.
