Gregory Lumber Invests $3 Million To Expand Pittsylvania County, Virginia, Sawmill

Gregory Lumber, Inc. will expand its sawmill operations in Pittsylvania County, Virginia. The company will invest $3 million in construction and equipment needed to add an automated lumber sorting system that will increase production by 50 percent.

One of the largest sawmills in the region, Gregory Lumber has been operating for nearly 30 years in the Java community of Pittsylvania County. The company primarily sells lumber into traditional pine markets and specialty construction markets, as well as the biomass industry. Gregory Lumber is also committing to purchase almost $8 million of Virginia timber over the next three years, or approximately 75 percent of the forestry inputs needed to supply its expansion.

John Gregory, Owner of Gregory Lumber said, “We are blessed to have the timber base in Virginia to support our expansion.
