Stanley Black & Decker Shutters Jackson, Tennessee Distribution Center
07/28/2010
"The decision is driven by reduced volumes across our distribution network and increasing volume reductions of the product distributed from [Jackson]," said Tim Perra, global communications director for Stanley.
Stanley will offer laid off workers severance packages and help with securing new jobs through the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development.
However, Jackson Mayor Jerry Gist is optimistic that the city could benefit from the closure in the future. As part of its streamlining initiative, Stanley is strongly considering Jackson for future facility moves.
