Bombardier To Build Learjet 85 In Kansas

Bombardier Aerospace has announced that it will build its new midsize Learjet 85 in Wichita, Kansas, in exchange for $27 million in bond financing from the state.

Bombardier will invest $600 million in an expansion at the Learjet site that will include a new paint facility, customer delivery center, production flight test facility, and expanded production hangars for final assembly of the plane.

The expansion represents the retention of 300 jobs and the creation of 300 new positions at the Wichita facility.
