Japan-Based Hitachi Energy Expands Alamo, Tennessee, Manufacturing Operations

Hitachi Energy, a global technology leader in electrification, plans to expand its manufacturing operations in Alamo, Tennessee. The $97 million project is expected to create 100 jobs in Crockett County.

The investment will allow the company to increase its total capacity for transformer components such as high-voltage direct current bushings.

“This investment in Tennessee is also an investment in the future of America’s energy infrastructure. We’re not only increasing our ability to deliver vital components to customers across the U.S. and the world, but we’re also making a long-term commitment to the Crockett County community. This facility plays a critical role in meeting fast-growing energy demand from AI as well as grid expansion and modernization, and we’re proud to grow our footprint and strengthen domestic manufacturing right here in Tennessee,” Steve McKinney, head of transformers, North America, Hitachi Energy said.

Hitachi Energy provides power grid technologies and digital solutions, including high-voltage equipment, transformers, automation, and grid edge solutions, to customers in utility, industry, and infrastructure sectors.
