Mitsubishi Electric US Expands Mason, Ohio, Production Operations

HVAC manufacturer Mitsubishi Electric US plans to expand its operations in Mason, Ohio. The approximately $30 million project is expected to create 180 jobs.

The investment at the company's existing site will include a new production line which will initially focus on MEWALL, s-MEXT and p-MESH units, together with CDUs and chillers for data center applications.

“The introduction of dedicated critical cooling production at our Mason facility marks an important step in strengthening the Group’s position in the fast-growing IT Cooling market. By hosting this new manufacturing activity and working closely with Mitsubishi Electric Hydronics & IT Cooling Systems, which will manage and operate production, we are enhancing the Group’s ability to serve customers across North America with high-quality, locally manufactured solutions tailored to the evolving needs of digital infrastructure. This operation also reinforces our long-term commitment to the region, creating new opportunities for growth, innovation and workforce development.” said Mike Corbo, president and CEO of Mitsubishi Electric US, Holdings, Inc.

To support the project the Ohio Tax Credit Authority approved a 1.682 percent, 10-year Job Creation Tax Credit. Additionally, Mason City Council approved a 15-year Community Reinvestment Area tax abatement tied to future job creation and payroll targets.

Mitsubishi Electric US, a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, provides electrical and electronic products and services for the HVAC, factory automation, transportation, semiconductor, aerospace, and energy markets.
