ABB Inc. Creating 130 Jobs in Huntersville and Cary, North Carolina

ABB Inc. will invest $90 million in Huntersville, North Carolina, to build a plant that will produce high-voltage and extra-high-voltage cables for long distance power transmission. The project by the Swedish-Swiss company will create 100 jobs. It will also add another 30 jobs at its North American headquarters in Cary.

"We have a very good and long-standing relationship with the state of North Carolina," said Enrique Santacana, region manager for ABB in North America. "The combination of proximity to transportation, top-notch engineering talent, and an attractive living environment made Huntersville an excellent choice for this new cable facility."

The One North Carolina Fund has extended ABB a $400,000 grant to help fund the project. And the state's Economic Investment Committee voted to award ABB a Job Development Investment Grant.

ABB already employs more than 770 people in North Carolina.
