Synergy Steel Plans New Plant in Lancaster County, South Carolina
08/09/2018
The company provides solutions to the housing and construction industry through the collaboration of light gauge steel manufacturing and innovative framing and panelization techniques. Synergy Steel’s process of utilizing 3D modeling software to construct engineered products provides a solution to the industry’s rising construction costs and skilled labor shortage.
Located at 1312 Camp Creek Road in Lancaster, Synergy Steel’s new, 32,000-square-foot facility will manufacture steel studs, engineered floor and roof trusses and wall panels for the construction industry. The process will involve a series of roller machines that will produce the final product, which will then be panelized before leaving the facility.
As an incentive, the Coordinating Council for Economic Development has approved job development credits related to this project.
“Combining light gauge steel manufacturing with the newest framing and panelization techniques provides our clients competitive advantages in the marketplaces in which they serve. We appreciate the opportunity to be part of the growing success of Lancaster County and look forward to being part of and giving back to the community,” said Synergy Steel COO Al Iagnemma.
“The 139 new jobs that Synergy Steel is bringing to Lancaster County will change the lives of South Carolinians, and for that, we couldn’t be more grateful. We wish Synergy Steel all the best on their new endeavors, and I look forward to watching them succeed for years to come,” Governor Henry McMaster said.
“Lancaster County welcomes Synergy Steel to our community. Manufacturing continues to be the largest employment sector for our residents, and the company will be a great addition to our outstanding manufacturing community. We appreciate Synergy Steel selecting Lancaster for the project and bringing new life to one of our available industrial buildings,” Lancaster County Council Chairman Steve Harper explained.
“Synergy Steel is an outstanding project, and we are very pleased the company has selected Lancaster County as their home. Metal fabrication is one of our strengths, so Synergy Steel should do very well here. The company recognized the tremendous opportunities we offer, and I look forward to them growing their operation in Lancaster,” Lancaster County Department of Economic Development Executive Director Jamie Gilbert added.
