11/07/2022
The new facility will be located at the Westside Business Park, a Georgia Ready for Accelerated Development (GRAD) certified site, in Lowndes County.
"Since Grupo Bimbo joined our Georgia family of international companies last year, they have been a strong community partner and premier employer in the Valdosta region," said GDEcD Commissioner Pat Wilson. "It is always exciting when a company that has invested in Georgia decides to invest again. Congratulations to Grupo Bimbo and the Valdosta-Lowndes community for this next step in a long-term partnership."
Grupo Bimbo has 203 plants and more than 1,700 sales centers strategically located in 33 countries throughout the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Africa. Its main product lines include fresh and frozen sliced bread, buns, cookies, snack cakes, English muffins, bagels, pre-packaged foods, tortillas, salted snacks, and confectionery products, among others.
Project Manager Kasey Smith represented the Georgia Department of Economic Development’s (GDEcD) Global Commerce team in partnership with Valdosta-Lowndes Development Authority, Georgia Quick Start, and Georgia Power.
