Kemira Eyes Expansion in Eastover, South Carolina
12/13/2019
Founded in 1920 and headquartered in Finland, Kemira has more than 4,900 employees worldwide. The company utilizes chemistry to add optimal quality; functionality and strength to paper and board products; ensure the safety and hygiene of water and food packaging; and maximize yield from energy resources.
Located at 191 Water Station Road in Eastover, the company’s expansion is expected to be completed in 2020. “We greatly appreciate the opportunity to partner with Richland County officials on the expansion at our Eastover facility. This investment in our plant demonstrates our long term commitment to the pulp and paper industry, our customers and the dedicated employees who work hard to make our business a success,” Kemira Senior Vice President of Commercial – North America Billy Ford said.
“When a company grows in South Carolina, it shows that we are one of the best places in the world to be doing business. Kemira’s decision to expand operations in Richland County is further testament to our exceptional workforce and business-friendly environment,” Governor Henry McMaster said.
"With more than 20 years of business in Richland County, Kemira is a prime example of the long-term success a company can experience in our community. Kemira's expansion is a testament to the fact that businesses can thrive and grow here and then reinvest back into the county,” Richland County Council Chair Paul Livingston added.
