LiCAP Technologies Expands Sacramento, California, Manufacturing Operations

06/11/2026
Battery manufacturing technology company LiCAP Technologies plans to expand its operations in Sacramento, California.

The investment at the company’s existing facility will increase advanced manufacturing capabilities and accelerate commercialization of its dry electrode technology platform for battery and energy storage applications.

“LiCAP's expansion reflects the type of advanced manufacturing innovation that will help strengthen California's leadership in clean energy technologies and domestic supply chains,” said Phoebe Bisnoff, Deputy Director of Battery Manufacturing at CALSTART. “The company's progress in dry electrode processing, intelligent manufacturing, and next-generation energy storage technologies aligns well with the industry's long-term goals for scalable and sustainable electrification.”

To support the project, LiCAP executed an $11.3 million grant funded by the California Energy Commission through the CALSTART-managed PowerForward program.

“LiCAP's continued growth is another strong example of the Greater Sacramento region's emergence as a center for advanced manufacturing and clean technology innovation,” noted Barry Broome, President and CEO of the Greater Sacramento Economic Council. “The company's expansion is creating high-value technical and manufacturing jobs while strengthening the region's role in the future of energy storage and advanced mobility technologies.”

LiCAP Technologies develops advanced manufacturing technologies for batteries, energy storage systems, and ultracapacitors. The company’s proprietary dry electrode platform is designed to improve manufacturing efficiency while supporting electric vehicle batteries, energy storage systems, and emerging applications in artificial intelligence and data center infrastructure.
