The company’s new R&D facility will feature 25,000 square feet of office space and 65,000 square feet of advanced manufacturing space.
“Illinois has a proud legacy of manufacturing excellence, and our investment in the Advanced Manufacturing & Innovation Center builds on that foundation to shape the next generation of industrial technology,” said James Nudo, Chairman of DMG MORI Federal Services, Inc. “By co-locating research and production in Chicago’s Goose Island industrial corridor, we are creating a powerful network effect that will accelerate innovation from discovery to deployment. This facility will expand our North American R&D capacity, advance additive manufacturing and automation technologies, and power production of dual-use and defense applications. We are proud to deepen our roots in Illinois and partner with the state’s leaders to strengthen America’s industrial competitiveness.”
The project is being supported by Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity’s Economic Development for a Growing Economy (EDGE) program.
“DMG MORI’s investment will create quality jobs, strengthen Chicago’s manufacturing ecosystem, and establish a cutting-edge R&D facility that supports innovation and long-term competitiveness,” noted Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) Director Kristin Richards. "DCEO is proud to support companies as they grow their footprint in Illinois and invest in the talent, technology, and training needed to build the future of manufacturing.”
