Carl V. Carlson Company Adds Pre-Cast Concrete Pipe Manufacturing Plant In Hartford, South Dakota
03/20/2014
"South Dakota is an exceptionally business-friendly state,” said Carl Carlson, Owner of Carl V. Carlson Company. “It is a wonderful place to do business; government regulation is not obtrusive, there’s no personal or corporate income tax, and it’s a right-to-work state. That’s important.”
The Board of Economic Development approved the company for a Revolving Economic Development and Initiative Fund loan last week. Funds will be used to build the firm’s facility at the intersection of Highway 38 and Interstate 90, and add upwards of 20 positions. The company hopes to break ground this spring and be fully operational by late summer.
“The REDI loan program offers a fixed interest rate, currently at 2 percent, which is very attractive to businesses,” said Pat Costello, Commissioner, South Dakota Governor’s Office of Economic Development. “Carl V. Carlson Company is just the latest company to take advantage of one of our low interest financing programs. I encourage any company, whether already established here or looking to expand or relocate into South Dakota, to check out our financing programs. There’s a good chance our office can be of assistance.”
“Carl V. Carlson is a well-established company in our region,” said Nick Fosheim, Executive Director, Minnehaha County and Lincoln County Economic Development Associations. “This new site affords the company the opportunity to grow a new product line and the entire company.”
