Adrian Steel Company Expands Lenawee County, Michigan, Operations

05/02/2026
Adrian Steel Company, a manufacturer of commercial vehicle equipment and storage systems for service fleets, plans to expand its operations in Lenawee County, Michigan. The $43.4 million project is expected to create at least 40 jobs.

The investment will include an additional 112,000 square feet at the company’s existing facility, enhancing capabilities across raw material storage, cutting, forming, welding, painting, assembly, office functions, and shipping operations.

“Today’s approved project underscores the continued confidence that manufacturing companies have in Michigan,” said Quentin L. Messer, Jr., CEO of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation and Chair of the Michigan Strategic Fund Board. “This investment strengthens our state’s manufacturing leadership and supports long-term economic competitiveness.”

To support the project, the Michigan Strategic Fund approved a $320,000 performance-based grant through the Michigan Business Development Program, tied to job creation and investment. Additional incentives include a five-year, 100% State Essential Services Assessment exemption valued at up to $228,751, a State Education Tax abatement, and a locally supported real property tax abatement.

Adrian Steel Company designs and produces shelving, partitions, racks, and related accessories for work vans and trucks. The company’s operations include product design, metal fabrication, assembly, and distribution to fleet and commercial customers.

“The City of Adrian recognizes Adrian Steel Company as a valued and longstanding community partner,” noted Lisa Hewitt-Cruz, Community Development Director for the City of Adrian. “We appreciate their continued investment, which supports quality jobs and contributes to the strength and stability of our local economy.”
