ARC Automotive, Inc. Invests Approximately $3 Million To Establish Hartsville, Tennessee, Manufacturing Center

ARC Automotive, Inc. , a global automotive parts manufacturer, will invest approximately $3 million to locate a new manufacturing facility in Hartsville, Tennessee, with plans to expand its automotive airbag inflator product production capability. The project is expected to create 66 jobs in Trousdale County.

“ARC Automotive has a long-standing partnership with the state of Tennessee,” ARC Automotive Vice President of Human Resources and Safety Gabe Bucca said. “It began its inflator operations in Knoxville in 1992. Knoxville and East Tennessee is home to our corporate headquarters, engineering technical center as well as inflator manufacturing. We now have the opportunity to expand our presence to the mid-state region with the opening of a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Hartsville. We value our relationship with the Volunteer State and we are very excited to work with the people of Hartsville and Trousdale County.”

The new facility will be built at the PowerCom Industrial Center, centrally located and convenient to ARC Automotive’s Knoxville and Morgantown inflator manufacturing operations. Site development is expected to start within the next few weeks with the construction of roads, buildings and infrastructure. Production at the Hartsville facility is targeted for the third quarter of 2014 with manufacturing and employment expected to gradually increase over a two-year period.

“Tennessee is home to over 900 automotive manufacturers and suppliers, creating a thriving automotive industry that employs more than 114,000 Tennesseans,” Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bill Hagerty said. “We’ve been ranked No. 1 in the nation for automotive manufacturing strength for an unprecedented four years in a row, thanks in large part to commitments from major manufacturers who are supported by a vast array of suppliers across the state. I appreciate the jobs ARC Automotive is creating in the Hartsville community and look forward to their continued growth.”
