Government Contracting Specialists To Locate Corporate Headquarters In Moyock, North Carolina
05/05/2014
“Government Contracting Specialists, Inc. looks forward to opening our new corporate headquarters in Currituck County with the attractive workforce located in the Northeastern North Carolina area,” said GCS President, Ashlee Harris. “We are confident that we will exceed our strategic growth projections at our new facilities in Moyock. GCS will be expanding our current construction, warehousing, and manufacturing capabilities as a result of this effort. Also, we would like to thank the Currituck County Board of Commissioners, the Currituck County Economic Development Department, and the North Carolina Department of Commerce for their support and assistance in achieving our goals.”
The firm provides professional services across architecture, engineering and communications technology. Their professional staff includes engineers, architects, planners, communications specialists, environmental analysts, construction managers, graphic designers, and licensed/certified technicians complemented by management and administrative specialists.
“Northeastern North Carolina continues to attract companies seeking lower taxes, a rural quality of life and a geographically strategic location,” said Governor Pat McCrory. “GCS, Inc. will provide an economic boost to Currituck County and the talented regional workforce."
“North Carolina welcomes GCS Inc. to Currituck County and Moyock," said Commerce Secretary Sharon Decker. “This woman-owned company will have a positive impact on the entire Northeast region, and will set an example for future companies, so that even more economic development projects down the road will come to the Inner Banks.”
The project was made possible in part by a performance-based grant from the One North Carolina Fund of up to $120,000. The One NC Fund provides financial assistance, through local governments, to attract business projects that will stimulate economic activity and create new jobs in the state. Companies receive no money up front and must meet job creation and investment performance standards to qualify for grant funds. These grants also require and are contingent upon local matches.
Partners that helped with this project include: the N.C. Department of Commerce, N.C. Community Colleges, College of the Albemarle, Currituck County, and Currituck County Economic Development.
