Symmco Plans Surgoinsville, Tennessee, Manufacturing Complex
09/06/2022
The company will locate in an existing facility at 386 Phipps Bend Road in Hawkins County. The expansion will position Symmco to be geographically closer to its largest consumer base while also allowing for increased production capacity, sales volume and potential new partnerships with sub suppliers, according to state officials.
“I am confident that Tennessee will be a great place for Symmco to expand. The cooperation of the state and local officials as well as the development officials from TVA made our decision to invest here easy. We are excited to be one of the newest employers in Hawkins County and look forward to many years of mutual success,” Frank Roberts, chairman of the board, Symmco, Inc. said.
Founded in 1952, Symmco serves many industries including lawn and garden, medical, power transmission and others. In addition to its manufacturing operations, the company also performs secondary machining and in-house tool design.
“Tennessee’s strong business climate and skilled workforce continue to attract companies to every part of the state, and our rural communities are no exception. I thank Symmco for its decision to invest in Hawkins County so that Tennesseans across the region can thrive,” added Governor Bill Lee.
