Hearthside Food Solutions Creating 100 Jobs in Michigan City, Indiana

Hearthside Food Solutions, a baker of snack foods, is creating up to 100 jobs in Michigan City, Indiana. The company produces snacks for national brands such as Keebler, Nabisco, and Kraft. It will invest more than $3.8 million to expand its facility by 23,000 square feet. The extra space will accommodate new snack cake and cookie baking lines.

"The prospect of expanding our plant creates efficiencies and opens up new opportunities for Hearthside Foods in Michigan City," said Bob Wojcik, plant manager of the Michigan City facility.

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation has offered Hearthside Food Solutions up to $750,000 in performance-based tax credits. Michigan City will offer additional property tax abatement at the request of the Michigan City Economic Development Corporation.

Hearthside already has more than 320 employees in Michigan City.
