"Bluegrass Supply Chain Services is proud to have begun our business here in Bowling Green, and we are even more excited to be able to announce our expansion here," said Bluegrass Supply Chain Services CEO John Higgins. "Our company was one of the first to begin at the Small Business Accelerator at WKU, and we've been fortunate to enjoy outstanding success year after year. This expansion is just the beginning for Bluegrass Supply Chain Services, and we couldn't be more excited to be able to grow and expand right here where it all started."
"Growing companies are successful companies, and we are delighted that Bluegrass Supply Chain is growing in Warren County," said Lt. Gov. Crit Luallen. "The Commonwealth's partnership with Bluegrass demonstrates the quality of our workforce, as well as the advantages which come with such an ideal location to do business."
Founded in 2002 in Western Kentucky University's Small Business Accelerator, Bluegrass Supply Chain Services has now grown to 625 employees. The company began as a part-time consulting operation with two associates and has since grown into a multi-million dollar supply chain services company that operates 3 divisions in four states. The company moved operations out of the Accelerator into private space in 2008 and continues to expand.
According to Bowling Green Mayor Bruce Wilkerson, "We are very proud to have a company like Bluegrass Supply Chain Services here in Bowling Green. While we appreciate each and every business in our community, it's always a special treat to see a company that began right here continue to grow and succeed. Today I am pleased to congratulate Bluegrass Supply Chain Services on this most recent expansion and I wish them continued success."
