Control Gaging Begins Construction Of Its Expanded Ann Arbor, Michigan, Manufacturing Center
10/01/2013
The firm said its new facility will improve efficiency in Control Gaging's current operations and offer the company room for future growth. It will also offer natural recreation options to employees. The company plans to add a bike path around the facility and plant more than 200 trees on the site.
"We are finding that many manufacturers are bringing their manufacturing back to the U.S. because they aren't saving money by having manufacturing off shore," said David Hayes, president, Control Gaging. "Although many suppliers are experiencing growth right now, Control Gaging's reputation for durability and customization is pushing our business ahead of competitors."
Control Gaging said it chose to expand in Ann Arbor because of the rich talent pool in the region. "The talented machinists and engineers in Ann Arbor are second to none," Hayes explained. "Our customers value the quality of Control Gaging's products, and our talented team is the foundation of our business. We not only work hard to hire the best, it's a source of pride for the company that we work hard to keep them on our team; the average tenure for an employee at Control Gaging is 15 years."
"Companies like Control Gaging know that being in Ann Arbor is a competitive advantage," said Paul Krutko, Ann Arbor SPARK President and CEO. "For companies of all sizes, from start-ups to global companies like Control Gaging, having access to world-class talent that know how to engineer and build precision equipment is an asset unique to the Ann Arbor region and to the businesses that choose to locate here."
