Swiss-based Nyrstar Establishes Its Headquarters For the Americas In Downtown Fort Lauderdale

Gov. Rick Scott said, “Nyrstar’s relocation of its corporate headquarters to Fort Lauderdale is great news for Florida families. We have eliminated burdensome regulations on businesses and we are the number one place in the nation for business, and people are taking notice. IT’S WORKING in Florida.”
Nyrstar U.S., Inc. manages current mining operations in Canada, the U.S., Mexico, Honduras, Chile and Peru. “We plan to have our corporate headquarters office for mining in the Americas in Fort Lauderdale for two primary reasons: for a more geographical central base for the current mining operations and for a most cost effective environment,” said Graham Buttenshaw, Senior Vice President Mining at Nyrstar.
“We recognize and appreciate the support of Florida Governor Rick Scott; Florida Secretary of Commerce and President of Enterprise Florida Gray Swoope and Vice President of Business Development Robert Sitterley; City of Fort Lauderdale Mayor Jack Seiler, City Manager Lee Feldman and the City Commission; and Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance CEO Council Chairman Ray Ferrero, Jr. and Managing Director Robin Ronne, who have all made us feel welcomed and appreciated for the positive economic development that Nyrstar brings to both Florida and the Greater Fort Lauderdale area,” he added.

The project was made possible through strong partnerships between Enterprise Florida, the City of Fort Lauderdale, the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance CEO Council and the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity.
