Clinical Architecture Expands Carmel, Indiana, Operations Center

Clinical Architecture, a software development company focusing on healthcare terminology management solutions, is expanding its headquarters in Carmel, Indiana. The company plans to create 40 new, high-wage jobs by 2021.

The homegrown Hoosier company is investing $4.2 million to lease, renovate and equip its new 23,500-square-foot office in the Meridian Mark I building along Carmel’s Meridian Street corridor.

“I have lived and worked on both the East and West Coasts before moving to Indiana in 1993,” said Charlie Harp, CEO of Clinical Architecture. “What I’ve discovered over the last 25 years is that the business-friendly environment, cost of living and smart, dedicated, hard working people make Indiana a great place to establish and grow a business.”

In March, the company moved from its 9,400-square-foot space on the building’s fourth floor to the entire fifth floor, more than doubling its office space. The new work environment fosters collaboration and innovation for the company’s growing team, which develops software to help improve the quality and usability of clinical information with the aim to impact care delivery, health care costs and overall patient outcomes.

As an incentive, IEDC offered Clinical Architecture LLC up to $700,000 in conditional tax credits and up to $100,000 in training grants based on the company’s job creation plans. These incentives are performance based, meaning until Hoosiers are hired, the company is not eligible to claim incentives. The city of Carmel supports the project.

Clinical Architecture currently employs 57 associates, including 52 at its headquarters in Indiana. The company is currently hiring software developers and clinical experts, as well as sales, marketing and product management professionals.
