SPF North America, Inc. Expands Greenwood County Manufacturing Complex
11/20/2014
“Our business has grown substantially since we located in South Carolina 7 years ago and this expansion will position us to continue our leadership position for the foreseeable future for both domestic as well as export business. We have been very pleased with the support we receive from the State of South Carolina, Greenwood County and the Greenwood Partnership Alliance as well as the overall favorable business climate in South Carolina,” said David Berry, head of SPF / Diana Petfood in North America.
SPF is part of the Diana Group’s pet food division. Diana, which was acquired by Symrise AG in July 2014, is a world leader in natural functional solutions for the food, pet food, nutraceuticals, aquaculture and cosmetics industries. Created in 1990 as a division of Guyomarc’h Group and headquartered in Rueil-Malmaison, France, Diana is currently established in 23 countries and employs approximately 2,100 people worldwide. The group is structured around three divisions – pet food, food and nova – in order to enhance its fields of expertise and develop synergies between activities linked to the same markets.
“It is always great to see a company succeeding in our state - especially one like SPF North America, which is expanding for the second time since locating in South Carolina seven years ago. SPF’s decision to invest $12 million and create 15 new jobs is great news for the local community and the hardworking people who live there,” said Governor Nikki Haley.
“When one of our existing businesses expands like SPF North America is doing, it further demonstrates the importance of staying connected with our industry to ensure they are successful and continue to thrive in Greenwood County. The Partnership Alliance is committed to doing just that and we congratulate SPF on their job creation and economic investment in this community.” Greenwood Partnership Alliance.
