Snap-On Tools Expanding, Adding Jobs in North Carolina

Snap-on Inc., a manufacturer of tools and diagnostic equipment, will invest $2 million to expand its operations in Murphy, North Carolina, according to the North Carolina governor's office. The project is expected to create 40 new job at an average annual salary of $30,751 plus benefits. "Doing business with the state of North Carolina, the Department of Commerce, the community college system, and the Murphy government and community agencies has and continues to be a great partnership," says Mark Pezzoni, president of power and specialty tools for Snap-on. "Our decision to expand our business in Murphy is a direct result of our excellent working relationship with our partners in North Carolina." The company will consolidate an operation in Massachusetts to facilitate the expansion. Financial incentives offered to the company include a $120,000 grant from the state, contingent on job creation, that will be matched by local agencies.
