Aircraft Manufacturer, Renegade Light Sport, Invests $2 Million To Relocate to Fort Pierce, Florida
03/06/2013
“The relocation will enable the company to take its Lycoming-powered fleet of US built aircraft forward at a rapid pace. The new Renegade facility will now host a full engineering department, composite and paint shop, along with a full LSA Avionics shop and a new research and development suite that will completely focus on bringing new models to the market,” said Philip Wyatt, Marketing Director.
Larry Pelton, president of the Economic Development Council of St. Lucie County, said this is an exciting new business that will bring added value to the Airport’s commercial traffic. “The EDC is proud to facilitate a good working relationship between Renegade and St. Lucie’s county government to speed construction and help the company begin its new manufacturing approach to meet consumer demand,” Pelton said.
“We are thrilled that Renegade chose to reinvest nearly $2 million in the Ft. Pierce facility and to hire 75 new employees,” said Faye Outlaw, St. Lucie County administrator. “Given all the choices that an employer like Renegade has, this is a vote of confidence in St. Lucie County as a good place to grow business.” A job growth investment grant and county-approved tax abatement contributed in part to Renegade’s decision to relocate.
