Sierra Peaks Corporation Invests More Than $3 Million In Two Camden, Maine, Manufacturing Facilities
04/23/2014
The investment is expected to lead to the creation of more than two dozen manufacturing jobs, with the potential for more jobs down the road, according to state economic development officials. At its Camden facilities, Sierra Peaks will design and manufacture some of the most powerful and acoustically superior miniature microphones in the industry. Over the last 50 years, the company has been a leader in designing, developing, manufacturing, and testing unique electromechanical systems for the U.S. Government, military, law enforcement, and commercial sectors including the aerospace, automation, and biometrics industries.
According to the state Maine Department of Economic and Community Development, John E. Rockwell III, President of Sierra Peaks Corporation, credits Governor Paul R. LePage Account Executive Jaimie Logan, of the MDECD, with playing an integral role in helping inform the company about available assistance and resources.
“Maine has taken a great interest in the work that we are doing there, and we appreciate Jaimie’s support and enthusiasm in welcoming us to the region,” said Rockwell. “Building a business in Maine is a great opportunity for us; we are very excited about the new business development that will result from our partnership with the Town of Camden and the State of Maine.”
“I commend Sierra Peaks for its substantial and welcome investment in Knox County,” said Governor LePage. “My administration stands ready to demonstrate to the company that Maine deeply appreciates its investment and will work hand in glove with them to make certain that they are able to grow and thrive in our state.”
