McCormick & Company To Establish New Headquarters In Hunt Valley, Maryland

04/28/2015
McCormick & Company, a global leader in flavor, will locate its new headquarters at 99 Shawan Road in Hunt Valley, Maryland.

The site, located at the corner of Shawan Road and York Road, is currently occupied by a telecommunications provider. Over the next several months, work will be done to finalize an agreement of terms for the site. The target date for occupancy is mid-2018.

According to the firm, the company will be working with development partner Greenfield Partners LLC and the property owner towards finalizing an agreement which is expected within the next several months. This move is an effort to consolidate more than 900 employees currently located across several buildings in Hunt Valley and Sparks into one location.

McCormick has plans to refurbish the entire building and landscape to create an attractive indoor and outdoor campus for employees and visitors. "The preferred site best met our criteria for size, location and ability to create an open, inspirational work environment," said Chairman/CEO Alan Wilson.

"We believe the new headquarters building design will offer an exceptional opportunity for collaboration and employee engagement. Also, there are added benefits of expanded efficiencies through better space utilization as well as energy efficiency and sustainability. It will be LEED Gold sustainability certified. This building will truly reflect the McCormick of the future,” he added.

"Baltimore Maryland is where McCormick was founded in 1889. The company is committed to build on our 126 year history in the State. We appreciate the strong support and encouragement that we have received during this process from our State and County officials to choose Maryland," said Alan Wilson. "Governor Larry Hogan, Speaker of the Maryland House of Delegates Michael Busch, Senate President Mike Miller and Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz have been close partners throughout the consideration process. We look forward to their continued support as our headquarters project progresses and as we continue to grow in Maryland."
