Signode Invests $15 Million To Establish Manufacturing Plant In Chapin, South Carolina

Part of the global company Premark Packaging LLC, Signode manufactures steel and plastic strapping, stretch firm and the application equipment and accessory products. With more than a century of experience, Signode's products are used worldwide to secure items such as cotton bales, newspapers, steel coils and corrugate cartons. The company will start to manufacture industrial packaging products in Chapin, adding 63 full-time positions with highly technical skills in the first phase.
"Signode is extremely excited to open up a brand new plant and product line in Chapin, South Carolina. We thank the Town of Chapin, Lexington County and the State of South Carolina for their tremendous support and we look forward to growing a lasting relationship,” said Joseph Hudson, Plant Manager.

Signode's expansion in our state further proves South Carolina's successful manufacturing reputation is well-earned,” Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt.
