Protego Expands Operations In North Charleston, South Carolina

06/08/2017
Protego, a global manufacturer of tank and flammable vapor processing safety equipment, will invest $3.7 million to establish a new sales and assembly operation at Landmark Business Park in North Charleston, South Carolina.

“We are excited to bring our expansion to the Landmark Business Park on Palmetto Commerce Parkway. Accessibility to the Port and local suppliers is a key element for our future growth in the North American market,” said Protego (USA) President Chris Mason.

“South Carolina continues to show that our economy is one of the most robust and fastest-growing in the world, and Protego’s success in the Lowcountry is a further testament to that. We’ve worked hard to create a pro-business environment and a highly-trained workforce, and those efforts continue to pay off for the people of South Carolina,” Governor Henry McMaster said.

“We congratulate Protego on this latest expansion, which adds to the ongoing success they’ve experienced in South Carolina. This new $3.7 million investment further proves that our state has the business climate and logistics capabilities companies are looking for,” Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt said.

“Protego joins a long list of top-notch companies to locate within Palmetto Commerce Park, which has become a hotbed of commerce. We look forward to seeing Protego’s growth and future successes within the City of North Charleston,” City of North Charleston Mayor Keith Summey said.

“Protego’s relocation to Charleston County will spark job growth and bring further investment to Palmetto Commerce Parkway. Our Business Concierge Team will partner with the company, along with the State of South Carolina and the City of North Charleston to ensure their continued success in the Lowcountry,” Charleston County Executive Director Steve Dykes added.
