Germany-Based IEB Americas Plans North Charleston, South Carolina, Production Operations

Battery charging and power supply solutions manufacturer IEB Americas, Inc. plans to establish operations in North Charleston, South Carolina. The $1.5 million project is expected to create 30 new jobs.

The company’s new facility, located at 4100 Carolina Commerce Parkway, will assemble and test products for the North and South American markets, manage inventory and provide support to customers and business partners.

“We are proud to open a new chapter in the IEB success story with our new facility in South Carolina: IEB systems made in America. We are bringing our leading energy systems and charging technologies directly to the U.S. market, delivering innovation, closer customer proximity and tailored solutions at a new level: local, flexible and with a clear focus on the future,” said IEB CEO Stefan Fiedler.

IEB Americas, a subsidiary of Industrie Elektronik Brilon GmbH, manufactures industrial battery charging systems and charging technologies. The company develops battery chargers, power supply systems and related energy solutions for industrial applications.

“IEB Americas’ $1.5 million investment in Charleston County reflects the ongoing confidence that South Carolina instills in manufacturers across the world. We thank the company for selecting the Palmetto State for its first North American operation,” noted Secretary of Commerce Harry M. Lightsey III.
