Nypro Plans Expansion of Asheville, North Carolina, Manufacturing Facility

The firm plans to add nearly 200 new high-wage production and engineering positions to its current workforce of 212 persons. The Asheville plant won the expansion on the merits of its workforce and historical productivity, according to Asheville Chamber officials.
“With a twenty year history in Buncombe County, we consistently have the talent needed to produce the innovative, high quality products that our clients and partners demand,” said Joe Freitas, Plant Manager of the Nypro Asheville facility.

Currently one of the largest employee-owned companies in the world, Nypro makes plastic molded products for healthcare, consumer electronics and packaging markets worldwide. When Nypro scouted locations to expand its’ production capabilities they evaluated locations worldwide but Buncombe County quickly became the logical choice, chamber officials said.
