Subaru Creating 100 Jobs in Lafayette, Indiana

Subaru of Indiana Automotive (SIA) is adding 100 jobs to its Lafayette, Indiana facility, the Journal & Courier reports. The company attributed the labor force increase to increased demand for its redesigned Outback and Legacy models.

"Our hardworking and dedicated work force has stepped up to the challenge of increasing production while maintaining our high quality, safety, and environmental standards," said Tom Easterday, SIA executive vice president. "We are excited to be adding 100 full-time associates during this time of uncertainty in the economy."

Sales of the Outback have increased by 96 percent over the past year, and Legacy sales have increased by 36 percent during the same time period.
