TruFood Expands Production at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Facility
09/07/2018
Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority, an independent authority staffed and regulated through the Department of Community and Economic Development, approved $68.5 million in low-interest loans that have resulted in $91.3 million in private investment and supported 3,380 created and retained full-time jobs.
TruFood Mfg., Inc. was approved for a $650,000, 10-year loan at a 3.75 percent rate through North Side Industrial Development Company, Inc. for the purchase of machinery and equipment to be installed at the company’s manufacturing facility located in Pittsburgh.
To meet the production obligations of several new contracts, the company requires two additional production and bagging lines to be constructed along with significant building modifications to accommodate the installation of the new production lines. The project is expected to create 55 new full-time jobs and retain 470 existing jobs within three years.
“This is great news for the workers and families in the region,” Governor Tom Wolf said. “TruFood has had great success in Pittsburgh over the years, and this funding will help them continue that success for years to come.”
