Traxys Cometals Processing Eyes Manufacturing Complex in Burnsville, Mississippi
12/14/2018
As an incentive, Mississippi Development Authority is providing assistance for the purchase of equipment and building construction. The Yellow Creek Port is financing construction of the facility. Tishomingo County Development Foundation is providing ad valorem and Free Port Warehouse tax exemptions.
Traxys Cometals Processing is a part of Traxys North America, a metals marketing, distribution and trading company. The company is constructing a new facility consisting of 105,000-square-feet of manufacturing space, as well as office space. There, Traxys Cometals will produce alloying agents for the molten metal treatment of aluminum and steel. Construction of Traxys Cometals’ Burnsville facility is expected to be complete in December.
“The Traxys Group is very excited about this first investment in Mississippi, and we are confident it will lead to additional growth opportunities in the not too distant future,” Traxys group CEO Mark Kristoff and Traxys Cometals Senior Vice President Ryan Campbell said. “Officials at all levels worked closely with our team throughout the process, and the tremendous support from state, local and county levels was central in our decision to select Tishomingo County.”
“Traxys Cometals’ decision to locate at the Yellow Creek Port was based on Mississippi’s manufacturing-friendly business environment and Burnsville’s proximity to rail and barge traffic,” Governor Phil Bryant said. “These advantages, combined with the region’s talented workforce, position the company for years of success in Tishomingo County.”
“Mississippi’s 15 ports provide companies like Tracy’s Cometals convenient access to global markets while generating private capital investment bringing promising careers for Mississippians,” said MDA Executive Director Glenn McCullough, Jr. “We salute the leadership at the Yellow Creek Port and the Tishomingo County Development Foundation for their teamwork with MDA, which resulted in bringing Traxys Cometals to our state.”
