Data Center Demand Emerges Throughout New Locations in North America

Directory 2016
The third party data center market is in continual growth mode, and according to 451 Research, the North American data center market is expected to see its revenue grow by roughly 14 percent for the next two years. Data centers are key economic drivers in markets within which they operate, and operators have looked to be more efficient with their locations, expanding into regions with more flexible utility costs, incentives packages or lower taxes. Providers are being pressed to offer greater coverage and service options, with many of them turning to mergers and acquisitions to keep pace.

JLL researchers examined 17 markets offering highly competitive data center locations in North America, and found that areas like Northern Virginia, Reno and Dallas have emerged as hotspots, as operators and cloud providers follow the trail of affordable utility rates, tax incentives and a demand for expanded service offerings.
