ReNew Biomedical Services Expands Jackson, Tennessee, Operations
10/29/2020
As part of the expansion, ReNew will build a new training facility where the company will train biomedical equipment technicians to handle the needs of the medical equipment industry, specifically focusing on equipment such as defibrillators, EKGs, vital signs monitors, IV pumps, AEDs and ventilators. The Renew Biomedical Training Academy of Jackson, Tennessee is scheduled to open in the final quarter of 2020.
“Due to the influx of ventilator service needs and the exponential growth of the medical equipment industry, our services have been in high demand. With the support of AAMI (Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation), we intend to build the first Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician, CBET, training program in the state of TN. These Healthcare Technology Managers are in great need of fresh talent. Jackson offers a perfect environment for this type of apprenticeship program because of the number of candidates in search of job placement in a more technical field of study. We believe that the pool of talent in our area is strong and the potential for growth is very exciting,” said Jill Taylor, Co-Owner, ReNew Biomedical.
“The addition of these high-quality jobs in Madison County will make a difference both for the employees and our collective efforts to fight COVID-19. These technical jobs equip healthcare workers with the equipment they need to operate effectively, and I thank ReNew Biomedical Services for their continued investment in Tennessee,” said Governor Bill Lee.
The medical equipment maintenance and repair service company that serves healthcare clinicians and Emergency Medical Technicians in the United States, has operated in Jackson for six years and currently employs 19 people.
“The work that ReNew Biomedical Services is doing is critically important, especially as we continue to navigate through the pandemic. We are pleased to see the growth of another West Tennessee company as Jackson’s skilled workforce makes a notable contribution to the fight against COVID-19,” said TNECD Commissioner Bob Rolfe.
