MHI RJ Aviation Group Expands Tucson, Arizona, MRO Operations

The MHI RJ Aviation Group, a maintenance, repair, and overhaul services provider to airline fleets, will expand operations in Tucson, Arizona. The project is expected to create 250 over the next three years.

The company will activate additional maintenance lines to meet customer demand for operational support of the CRJ, the benchmark aircraft utilized in regional aviation.

“We aim to contribute to the economic growth of Tucson through the continued growth of our maintenance activities. Project partners include Arizona Commerce Authority (ACA), Sun Corridor Inc., Pima County, City of Tucson, Tucson Airport Authority, and Pima Community College. “We are excited the MHI RJ Aviation Group has chosen to expand its aircraft maintenance operations in Tucson,” noted Sandra Watson, President and CEO of the Arizona Commerce Authority. “As an aviation industry leader with a reputation for excellence, MHIRJ will further enhance Southern Arizona’s robust aerospace and aviation industry and create even more skilled jobs in Southern Arizona.”

MHIRJ, a group company of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, provides support and service to the regional aircraft industry and operators. The company services the CRJ Series at Tucson International Airport and in Bridgeport, West Virginia.
