Benjamin Moore & Co. Opens Distribution Center In Oakland, California
03/16/2015
The company will occupy 142,000 square feet of the newly constructed Goodman Logistics Center, the largest freestanding industrial facility built in the Greater Oakland area in the past two decades. The facility is leased to Benjamin Moore & Co. by Goodman Birtcher North America on behalf of the owner, Goodman North American Partnership, and is the first-ever Silver LEED certified site for Benjamin Moore & Co.
The Silver LEED Certified Logistics Center will support distribution of an expanded line of Benjamin Moore & Co. products and serve as the key hub for the company’s growing network of Asia Pacific retailers and distributors, company officials said.
“The opening of the new Oakland distribution center is a milestone for our domestic and international growth strategy,” said Mike Searles, President/CEO of Benjamin Moore & Co. “Benjamin Moore is committed to providing business solutions to support the independent retail channel.”
The property is situated within the Port of Oakland’s “Oakland Airport Business Park,” a business-friendly enterprise and eco-conscious industrial zone, located just east of the San Francisco central business district. Benjamin Moore & Co. also has plans to expand distribution operations later this year in Landover, Maryland.
