Edible Garden AG Upgrades Webster City, Iowa Operations

07/05/2026
Controlled environment agriculture company Edible Garden AG Incorporated plans to upgrade its operations in Webster City, Louisiana Iowa. The $75 million project is expected to create 42 jobs.

The investment will include the redevelopment of the company’s existing 400,000-square-foot facility into a manufacturing hub focused on shelf-stable, plant- and dairy-based protein beverages, producing more than 100 million ready-to-drink units annually.

“We are pleased to receive continued support from our state and local partners as we advance this transformational project in Webster City,” said Jim Kras, Chief Executive Officer of Edible Garden. “The Prairie Hills facility represents an important step in scaling our Farm-to-Formula platform and expanding our presence in the rapidly growing clean nutrition and functional beverage markets. We believe this project will create long-term value through innovation, sustainable manufacturing, job creation and the development of advanced food and beverage production capabilities in Iowa. In addition, we expect the facility to strengthen regional supply chains, increase demand for agricultural and dairy inputs, and create new opportunities for manufacturing, packaging, logistics and transportation partners throughout the state.”

To support the project, the Webster City Council approved a development agreement providing up to $6.3 million in performance-based tax increment financing incentives. The Iowa Economic Development Authority previously approved a $2.66 million incentive package that includes $2 million in Investment Tax Credits and $660,000 in Sales and Use Tax Refunds to support the facility’s redevelopment.

“This is exactly the type of forward-looking investment that strengthens both our regional and statewide economy,” noted Dan Culhane, President and CEO of the Ames Regional Economic Alliance. “Edible Garden’s project leverages Iowa’s agricultural strengths, adds significant manufacturing capacity, and creates new market opportunities well beyond our borders. We’re proud to support this innovative expansion and the long-term value it will generate for our communities.”

Edible Garden AG Incorporated is a controlled-environment agriculture company that grows and distributes fresh herbs, leafy greens, and produce using sustainable greenhouse and hydroponic farming methods. The company’s operations include indoor cultivation, packaging, distribution, and food safety technologies serving grocery retailers and foodservice customers.
