Continental Tire Expands Norfolk, Nebraska Plant
01/08/2018
The company plans to hire about 30 additional associates at its facility that currently employs about 360 workers. With expansion of the plant, which primarily produces hoses and rubber compounds, workers at the facility will also manufacture compound for Continental’s whitewall tires for passenger cars.
Nebraska Department of Economic Development assisted the city in providing incentives for the firm’s expansion project through a community development block grant and by providing site and building development funds. Construction on the expanded facility should begin soon, with completion scheduled by the end of the first quarter of 2019.
“We have plans to add in excess of 19,000 square feet to expand our rubber mixing capabilities and better serve our internal and external customers,” said Dan Granatowicz, Plant Manager. “The investment will also reaffirm our commitment as a good corporate citizen to the Norfolk community and the region as we secure jobs and support the economies of each."
