Anchor Innovation Expands Virginia Beach, Virginia, Operations

Anchor Innovation, a technical services company that provides support to the U.S. Navy and other government organizations, plans to expand its operations in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The $213,000 project is expected to create 86 jobs.

The investment will include the lease of an additional boatyard space and opening of a new 1,800-square-foot office.

“This grant represents more than just funding — it’s a strong vote of confidence in Anchor Innovation’s mission, our people, and the future we’re building here in Virginia,” said Anchor Innovation Chief Growth Officer Mark Olson. “Anchor proudly invests in Hampton Roads and the broader Commonwealth through local jobs, community partnerships, and forward-leaning maritime technology. With support from the Virginia Economic Development Partnership, we’re accelerating our ability to recruit, train, and retain top-tier talent to meet the rising demand for maritime readiness and operational excellence. It strengthens our position as a trusted partner to the government while reaffirming our commitment to innovation, economic growth, and the next generation of capabilities.”

Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) worked with the City of Virginia Beach to secure the project and will support Anchor’s job creation through the Virginia Jobs Investment Program, which provides consultative services and funding to companies creating new jobs in order to support employee recruitment and training activities. As a business incentive supporting economic development, VJIP reduces the human resource costs of new and expanding companies. VJIP is state funded, demonstrating Virginia’s commitment to enhancing job opportunities for citizens.

Anchor Innovation specializes in program management, maintenance, training, and operational support, with a particular focus on Force Protection/Antiterrorism, Port Operations, and Special Warfare.
