Intertek Opens Building-Construction Lab in Fridley, Minnesota

Intertek, a leading Total Quality Assurance provider to industries worldwide, opened its new 70,000 square-foot building and construction laboratory in Fridley, Minnesota.

The facility is located in the Northern Stacks, a new industrial distribution and office/warehouse business park in Fridley. The expanded space will allow the group to offer customers in the building and construction industry systemic Assurance, Testing, Inspection and Certification solutions, underpinned by innovative technology and new capabilities, and backed by Intertek’s precision, speed and expertise.

In the expanded lab space, Intertek’s experts will offer a robust set of testing and certification services, including: full scale indoor mock-up capabilities, air/water/structural testing, impact and pressure cycle testing, air/water field testing, vertical façade/roof inspections, acoustical field testing, insulating glass testing, large- and small-scale environmental chamber testing, safety glass testing, thermal testing and thermal computer simulations.

The facility is accredited by the American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA), International Accreditation Services (IAS), National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC), Safety Glazing Certification Council (SGCC), International Green Construction Code (IgCC), Miami-Dade County, Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) and the Florida Building Commission (FBC).
