The investment will include the construction of a 1.18 million-square-foot facility which will feature lab space, prototype manufacturing and areas for engineers and software developers. Operations are scheduled to begin in 2027.
“As we look at the next five to 10 years of growth for the company, we’re going to be embarking on a whole bunch of new programs,” Grimm said. “That means we’re going to need to hire people. The talent exists around Long Beach and the neighboring communities of folks who are just world-class experts in the aerospace sectors is truly, truly remarkable,” said Anduril co-founder Matt Grimm.
Anduril Industries develops advanced autonomous systems, unmanned vehicles, and AI-powered defense solutions for national security and military applications. The company’s offerings combine artificial intelligence, robotics, sensor fusion, and networked command-and-control software to enhance situational awareness and automation across air, land, sea, and coastal environments.
“Anduril’s world-class innovation and deep California roots are helping shape the next generation of America’s aerospace and defense industry. With this major investment, they are reinforcing California’s leadership in this critical sector, creating good-paying jobs and strengthening the state’s innovation ecosystem,” noted Governor Gavin Newsom.
“Through ongoing collaboration with the City of Long Beach, including efforts like Grow Long Beach, job creation remains central to a strong local economy,” added Long Beach Area Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Jeremy Harris. “The Chamber looks forward to continuing this work alongside the City and our partners to support employers and the workforce that drives our region forward.”
