03/01/2025
The new 1.6 million-square-foot ultra-premium towel and tissue production facility will be located on a 1,000-acre site at the Baltimore Avenue Industrial Corridor.
“First Quality Tissue’s decision to locate its new production facility in Defiance County speaks to Ohio’s exceptional strength in manufacturing and the proven workforce in the region. The size and scope of this massive new plant reflects Ohio’s ability to support transformative manufacturing projects and an environment where innovative companies can thrive,” J.P. Nauseef, JobsOhio President and CEO said.
JobsOhio plans to provide assistance to the project, which will be announced after a final agreement is executed.
“Close to a billion dollar investment, which is the highest investment our county has ever seen, so that is really exciting in itself. They are going to have 400 new positions with phase one and phase two. And they have plans in the works to potentially do other phases, so this really could look very different years down the road and be very transformational for Defiance County,” noted Erika Willitzer, the executive director of Defiance County Economic Development.
First Quality produces home care paper products, adult incontinence products, feminine care products, baby care, and flexible packaging. The company’s brands include Prevail®, Cuties®, Plenty®, Panda®, and Incognito®.
